Bharatanatyam

BHARATANATYAM

DASIYATTAM

Bharatanatyam originated in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu with a rich history that goes back more than 3,000 years. Derived from ‘Bharata’ and ‘Natyam’ where ‘Bharata’ is a mnemonic comprising of ‘bhava’ (emotion and feelings), ‘raga’ (melody and framework for musical notes) and ‘tala’ (rhythm). This art form offers infinite scope for understanding and exploring one's body, mind and spirit by integrating elements of music, theater, poetry, sculpture, and literature.

Kuchipudi

KUCHIPUDI

NATYA MELA

Kuchipudi, a classical form of dance, drama, and music finds place in 10th & 15th century texts as having evolved from a small village of Kuchipudi (Kuchipudi – shortened from Kuchelapuram or Kuchilapuri) the South Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The present version of the dance form was methodized in the 17th century and is known for its quick footwork, dramatic characterization, expressive eye movements & spirited narrative.

Mohiniyattam

MOHINIYATTAM

DANCE OF MOHINI

Mohiniyattam is a classical dance form that originated in the South Indian state of Kerala. This gracefully elegant classical dance incorporates delicate footsteps & subtle facial expressions to show feminine love. In a concert, the dancer begins by performing Cholkettu, followed by Jathiswaram, Padam, Varnam & Thillana.

Kerala Natanam

KERALA NATANAM

KERALA DANCE

Kerala Natanam is a modern art form that evolved from the traditional Kathakali dance form, both of which originates from the South Indian state of Kerala.  But unlike Kathakali, the costumes portray the characters, facial expressions, postures, and more body gestures are involved to emote the songs.

Thiruvathira Kali

THIRUVATHIRA KALI

KAI KOTTI KALI

Thiruvathirakali is a unique and ritualistic dance that originated and is performed in the South Indian state of Kerala.  It is one of the most ancient dance forms where women dressed in traditional Kerala attire circle around a lamp and perform in circular movements throughout the entire dance.  The fast and slow movements of this graceful dance are both enchanting and elegant.

Folk & Fusion Dance

FOLK & FUSION DANCES

Indian Folk dances are performed for every major celebrations and portrays different states, traditions, and richness of Indian culture.  Folklore dances and tribal dances are portrayed using colorful costumes,  extensive jewelry and accessories.  Fusion dances combine different dance styles like Indian Classical, Hip-Hop, and Bollywood.
